On the way to Salzburg.... Melk Benedictine Abbey; Melk, Austria

SO, for any of you who might be wondering, I am NOT still on the road with my mom! Things have been a little crazy since she left to go back home including two "moves" in less than 2 weeks. I am just being able to have enough internet access to upload and post these pictures in one sitting.

And here we are: The restaurant and garden area right outside of the Abbey which you will soon see!  But I liked the inside of this house... :)

Because of this!

Weird.

Inside the Abbey Museum, this Cross is hundreds of years old and this is the original wood and coloring; a sobering picture.

Today's Baroque Abbey was built in the early 16th century. You can see the Baroque style in all of the ornate architecture and painting. Its fame and academic structure kept it safe from seizure during that time when other Abbeys were seized and shut down.

Oh that is SO Baroque...

One of the courtyards:

This room (as seen in the pictures above also) was used for entertainment. There was a structure, I wish I had taken a picture of, that was in the middle of the floor which provided heating for the lovely hall- for entertainment and parties. I love these windows!

Love this as well; also Baroque style!

And the journey continues......
